Four Generations of Excellence Since 1960
Our story began in 1960 when Linzie Hollifield, a talented watchmaker and repairman, opened his shop in Sylva, North Carolina. A few months later, his son-in-law, Ron Dennis, joined him to manage the retail side of the business, while Linzie focused on repairs. Together, they built a shop known for quality and personal service.
As the business grew, Ron was joined by his wife, Linda, helping make the store a welcoming place for the community. The shop became a trusted part of Sylva, serving generations of customers while staying true to the family values Linzie established.
Steve Dennis, their son, grew up beside his grandfather at the workbench, learning the craft and developing a deep respect for watchmaking and jewelry repair. After college, Steve worked in the shop for several years, gaining hands-on experience before beginning to purchase the business from his father. In 1997, he was joined by his wife, Beth, continuing the family tradition of craftsmanship, care, and attention to detail that has made the store a cornerstone of the community for over 65 years.
In 1960, when Dwight D. Eisenhower was President and the average cost of a new home was $12,400, the Hollifield family opened their doors at 600 W Main Street in Sylva, North Carolina. What began as a small family business has grown into Western North Carolina's most trusted jewelry destination.
